Jan. 17, 2024, Mistletoe Bay to Havelock, 32,54 km, km 1699,26, 8:49 hrs
I start walking at 6:55. First, we finish the last 10-plus kilometers along the Queen Charlotte Track, which ends in a small place called Anakiwa. On that section, I see three stingrays in the turquoise and clear water; they look beautiful.
After a break in Anakiwa, there is a small track and then a bike lane for approximately another 10 km before hitting a nice track with beautiful views that lead to Havelock. It is another sunny day.
These days don't feel too hot to me, but it is quite unbearable to be in the sun. I've said many times before that this sun is aggressive, and it is. I am very glad for my long pants, long-sleeve shirt, sun hat, and gloves for protection. Sunscreen covers the little patches of skin that the sun could still burn.
