Te Araroa, Day 23

This morning, we need a ride back to the trail at Dome Forest car park. The first taxi available picks us up at 9:30 am. I start walking at 9:50 am. Today’s walk is easy, comprising gravel roads, paved roads, a small trail in the rainforest, and some paddock walking. Compared to yesterday, it feels like a holiday.

After covering 26 km in almost 7.5 hours, I reach the Puhoi pub. This historical building is adorned with pictures and artifacts from ancient times. We share a room, and after enjoying pizza and fries, we quickly fall asleep.
