Jan. 03, 2024, Feilding to Palmerston North, 28,5 km, km 1411,6
I walk out of the hotel at 6:30 am. Today, it's road again. Those road walks are very hard on the feet. On this route today, the Te Araroa people threw in a few hundred meters off the road.
It is not worth it. They make me cross a stream and walk through a swamp. Shoes and socks wet, just for a few hundred meters off the road.
In Palmerston, I drop my stuff at the motel and walk another 5 km or so out of the town, catching the bus to go back to the motel. This way, we can take the bus again to that point when we are leaving Palmerston after the day off there.
I am done with the official walking at 2 pm. Then follows the usual routine: shower, finding food, and today, replacing my wall charger since the adapter broke.
